Students published research and delivered poster and paper presentations to a wide range of symposiums, journals and research competitions in degrees ranging from arts administration to electrical engineering.
Jack Yacoub spent one week in May at Xavier University of Louisiana at an advanced training course sponsored by the National Institutes of Health/National Institute on Aging, Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Xavier University of Louisiana.
Jacqueline 麦克劳林, associate professor of biology, received the 2018 Teaching Excellence Award for full-time 教师 from Tina Q. 理查森, chancellor at Penn State Lehigh Valley, and Douglas Hochstetler, interim director of academic affairs (not pictured).
With the academic year coming to a close, outstanding 教师 and staff were recognized for their achievements on April 25 at the first-ever 教师 and staff awards luncheon at the Lehigh Valley campus.
Penn State Lehigh Valley students Zoha Babar, Sheherbano Hussain and Jimmy Hadid, and Associate Professor of Biology Jacqueline S. 麦克劳林, gathered in front of their poster titled, "The Potential of Coating Polyurethane with ‘Self-like’ Molecules to Reduce the Host Response to Implanted Medical Devices." They took second place in the Biological Sciences and Health category at the Penn State Eastern Regional Undergraduate Research Symposium at Penn State Abington on April 21. Their poster was also presented at the 2018 Undergraduate Research Exhibition in University Park.
Some highlights of the CHANCE Australia program include research with the JCU Turtle Health Research Team on sea and freshwater turtle health and viral outbreaks, and participation in the Great Barrier Reef Monitoring Program, among other experiences.
Jacqueline 麦克劳林, associate professor of biology at Penn State Lehigh Valley, was recently recognized by the North American Association for Environmental Education. 麦克劳林 was honored with the Higher Education Educator of the Year Award, given to educators for promoting environmental education and utilizing the environment as a context for learning in their teaching.
